Stinging black insect
I have been stung or bitten by a black flying insect , slender and length about 1/2 inch. It resembles a mosquito and appears to go for the face. It lands and immediately stings or bites. The first occasion was in Suffolk and the last in Wiltshire (today). Do you have any ideas as to what this maybe? Thank you
Bitten also?
Hi all,
My fiancee has also been bitten twice once on a beach down in south devon & wile also out walking in the welsh mountains.
She describes a black insect more bug looking than fly or mosquito? It bit her on the arm and not the face.
Like you wanting know what it is as never seen it before, might be the same insect as you discribe or could be some other bug?
Does anyone have any Ideas what these insects could be?
Thanks.
